Treatment for local hospice by SIGNARAMA York
It does not matter whether you are a high street name, small independent or a charity; we are all aware that retailers are experiencing challenging trading conditions. One of the best ways of attracting customers is through clear signage and even established businesses find that new shop fascias often result in increased customer awareness and trade.
Based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire St. Catherine's Hospice is an adult hospice caring for those with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families. Their network of 12 charity shops located in Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering and North Yorkshire raise in excess of £2 million each year. Recently the charity took the decision to refresh and update their external signage and commissioned SIGNARAMA York to complete the project for them.
For the SIGNARAMA York team, the project involved carrying out a survey and taking detailed measurements at each of the 12 shop locations. The Hospice's old blue and gold signage was then replaced with blue Reynobond aluminium composite panels laid up with white lettering made from Metamark M-7 series vinyl. The blue Reynobond provides a striking background for the white vinyl lettering and gives each shop a modern fresh appeal. In addition the choice of these materials provided a cost effective solution for the charity whilst being durable enough to withstand North East Yorkshire's marine environment.
To help make the window displays at the shops look more professional, the SIGNARAMA team installed two sets of Mid West Display acrylic poster holders. These poster holders can take A4 sized posters and removes the need for posters to be stuck to the shop windows.
St Catherine's Hospice Director of Fund Raising, David Marshall said; "With its clean lines, our new signage gives our charity a modern and up to date look whilst remaining true to our values. All our shops now have the same external look and as a result we have benefited from increased awareness of our charity amongst our local community."
